How To Take Care of Eyelash Extensions?

Aftercare of your new lashes.

The after care process is important to ensure your lashes last as long as possible and your natural lashes are well maintained. The eyelash extensions care is not as complicated but once you make this into a routine, it will be seamless and easy. Here are some fool-proof ways to take care of them:

Right After Your Appointment

On the first day of your extensions, right after your appointment, you can rinse your lashes with water only, one hour after the application to remove any adhesive residue. The adhesive cures (dries) after at least one hour post application.

Cleansing Your Lashes Daily

It is a myth that we should not touch our extensions for the period of our wear. It is a must to cleanse and wash our eyelash extensions on a daily basis in order to keep your lashes for as long as possible and to maintain healthy natural lashes. Cleansing lashes will clean your lash line from buildup of oils, dirt, makeup and debris, that causes your extensions to pop off easily.

  1. Use oil-free and alcohol-free cleanser. Products containing oils including cleansers, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizers, cleansing oils, sunscreen, and eye creams will increase buildup and break down the adhesive causing your extensions to fall out faster.

  2. We provide eyewash specifically formulated for lash extensions to all our clients during their first appointment, if you haven’t gotten one or want one, pick one up from our studio.

  3. Here is a quick video guide on how you can wash your lashes on our Instagram page.

  4. If you tend to wear makeup on a daily basis or have oily skin then lash cleansing should be a part of your nightly routine. If possible, wash your lashes after each make-up wear.

  5. After cleansing, dab your eyes dry with towel and use mascara wand (spoolie) to brush and groom to fluff lashes back up.

Routinely Habits

As much as we succumb to our daily habits of touching our eyes, we want to be mindful of our lash extensions so they can look as full as possible until your next refill.

  1. Do not rub your eyes; use the mascara wand to help with itchiness (if any).

  2. Do not tug, twist, pick or pull at your lashes or extensions as you will be pulling your natural lashes out prematurely

Don’t Sleep on your Lashes

Sleeping with your face smushed into the pillow will risk pulling your lashes out and, creating sparse and bald areas as they rub on a hard surface. Sleep on your back or side with your eyes off the pillow to avoid you can use the eye-mask we provided you during your first appointment.

Be careful around strong Heat

Be careful around strong heats such as ovens or lighters as they can singe your lashes and extreme heat can also cause synthetic lash extensions to melt, which will deform the beautiful shape and styling of your lashes.

Dump the Mascara

You wouldn’t want to go back to the mascara regime once you’ve had eyelash extensions. Mascara leaves your lashes crusty and brittle. If you choose to wear mascara - only apply to the tips and used water-based mascara that washes off easily; do not wear waterproof mascara.

Keep Cotton Pads away from your eyes

Fibers in the cotton pad easily catch onto your fluffy lashes. No matter how careful you are odds are you will likely be spending your time untangling them from your lashes. Cotton swabs with precision tips make a much better tool!

Do not try to Remove Lashes yourself

Some people subject to cutting lashes, you are risking damage to your eyes and lashes. Using any sort of oil may not help as it will only damage your natural lashes as your pick, pull and rub them.

Book Your Refills

It is completely normal to loose 1-5 lashes a day, as your natural lashes shed naturally in that manner. As weeks go by, they will start to look less dense and if you choose to upkeep them, you can come in every 2-3 weeks for a touch up to keep your lashes looking full and have grown outs removed.

During a refill, we clean and remove grown out lash extensions, and apply new extensions to maintain your set so they look as fresh, full and beautiful as they can.

You can BOOK YOUR REFILLS HERE Our recommendation is to book 2 weeks in advance to get in your preferred time and day, to avoid scheduling disappointments and maintain the lash beauty regime.
